TURMEPA had been working with students and adults for 25 years to raise awareness about the importance of marine environment protection through its educational programs. TURMEPA’s challenge is to utilize its resources in a more effective way to reach a wider range of target groups from all over Turkey with its specifically designed content on marine ecosystem, to track the effectiveness of its educational programs by observing target groups’ progression and willingness to benefit from TURMEPA’s content, and to bring greater accuracy to its work and enhance the visibility of TURMEPA through real-time data capture and reporting.

TURMEPA has already digitalized most of its educational content. It aims to create a platform called TURMEPA Academy to present not only TURMEPA’s categorized educational content to all and make it possible for people to access various types of content from anywhere, any time, but most importantly provide a space to bring together different NGOs and organizations so that they provide additional value to their target groups. This platform will offer an opportunity for different partners and stakeholders, consisting of academicians, biologists, psychologists, teachers, robotics specialists etc., to share their valuable knowledge with others. All this will contribute to bringing various disciplines together to enrich TURMEPA Academy.

Having carried out meetings with various stakeholders about this platform, TURMEPA has received a lot of positive feedback, and many organizations have shown their eagerness to not only benefit from this platform, but also be a part of it and contribute its development.
