From smarter and greener urban infrastructure, to local AI models and digital tools that help cities and its residents measure and reduce environmental impact, green urban tech innovators will take the virtual stage on 25 February 2026 at the BOOST x City Experiment Fund (CEF) Green Urban Tech Sprint Demo Day.

The online event marks the culmination of an intensive sprint programme supporting startups from across Europe and Central Asia to refine solutions tailored to real, urban challenges. The participating teams have been working closely with UNDP mentors and engaging with municipalities to ensure their innovations respond to practical public-sector needs.
From ideas to city implementation
Cities across the region are under increasing pressure to reduce emissions, modernize infrastructure, improve resource efficiency and deliver better services for residents. The Green Urban Tech Sprint was designed to help bridge the gap between innovative ideas and municipal implementation.
Throughout the sprint selected teams refined their problem definition based on city needs, adapted their solution to public-sector constraints, and initiated discussions with city/public-sector stakeholders to take their innovations from idea to deployment.
A platform for impact-driven solutions
During the Demo Day, participating teams will pitch their solutions in a short, focused format, presenting the urban problem they are addressing, their proposed solution, its relevance and value for cities and residents, and the team’s capacity to deliver in collaboration with public-sector partners.
An expert jury will evaluate the pitches based on innovation, impact, feasibility, team strength and clarity of presentation. Awards will be presented for Best Pitch, Most Innovative Solution and Solution with the Greatest Impact Potential for Cities and Their Residents.
Accelerating greener, smarter urban futures
The Demo Day builds on the momentum of the Green Urban Tech Sprint and Discovery Days, which brought innovators and municipal representatives together to align solutions with concrete urban priorities.
The Sprint is organized jointly by BOOST and the CEF – an initiative that collaborates with cities to tackle complex urban challenges through strategic innovation and experimentation. Through CEF, cities in Armenia, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Ukraine connect with innovators to pilot practical solutions in real-world settings.
The BOOST x CEF Green Urban Tech Sprint is supported by the Slovak Transformation Fund, financed by the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic.
The event is open to anyone interested in the future of cities. Register to join the online session on 25 February 2026, from 14:00 to 16:00 (CET).
