Each year, Moldova generates over 300,000 tonnes of paper waste and relies heavily on plastic packaging imports, which contribute to environmental degradation and rising plastic taxes.
Repack converts local waste paper into compostable, breathable, EU-compliant packaging in the fresh food sector through a closed-loop, solar-powered production process.
Repack’s solution replaces plastic trays with recyclable alternatives (up to 7 cycles), reducing both plastic and paper waste as well as CO2 emissions from packaging imports. While supporting local agriculture and creating jobs in green production, the packaging also extends product freshness by up to three days compared to plastic.
