UNDP announces winners of the BOOST: Green Futures Challenge in Ukraine and Moldova

Seven pioneering ventures from Ukraine and Moldova have been selected as winners of the BOOST: Green Futures Challenge – an acceleration programme supporting green recovery and resilience in the region, powered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Europe and Central Asia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

The winning ventures were recognized for their scalable, high-impact solutions advancing progress in renewable energy, circular economy, green construction, and environmental restoration. Together, they showcase how local innovation is driving the economy and sustainable development in Ukraine and Moldova.

Meet the winners

  • Briller.House (BRYLIVSKY SKHYLY) (Ukraine) – Builds zero-carbon modular homes using AI-driven design and CNC-powered micro-factories, showing how construction can leapfrog into a circular, low-carbon future.
  • Eco Fabrica (Moldova) – Creates solar-powered systems for heating buildings and drying harvested produce, accelerating renewable energy use in agriculture and housing.
  • Eveco Construction (Moldova) – Produces prefabricated wall systems from natural and recycled materials, cutting emissions while improving the affordability of sustainable housing.
  • Geopolimer (Ukraine) – Turns industrial and construction waste into carbon-absorbing materials, redefining what green building can look like.
  • Mama Plant a Tree (Ukraine) – Combines ecological restoration with humanitarian action, planting trees while safely de-mining land.
  • Proton Energy Solutions (Moldova) – Operates a virtual power-plant platform that helps flexible energy consumers balance the grid – a step toward smarter, more resilient systems.
  • Recycle (Ukraine) – Connects citizens with certified recyclers through a digital marketplace that makes circular practices easy and rewarding.

Each of these ventures will receive US$20,000 in funding to scale and implement their solutions.

Celebrating green innovation

The winners were announced following two BOOST: Demo Days – held in Lviv, Ukraine (22–23 September) and Chişinău, Moldova (3 October) – which brought together 40 participating ventures, investors, and innovation ecosystem leaders from the region.

Launched in April 2025, the BOOST: Green Futures Challenge attracted 196 applications from startups tackling challenges related to green recovery, energy transition, and circular economy. Over a ten-week acceleration programme, participants completed five modules on impact assessment, business modelling, and investor readiness, received training from UNDP and Polish experts, and benefited from more than 140 hours of tailored mentorship by 22 Polish mentors.

The BOOST: Green Futures Challenge was made possible thanks to the support of key partners, including Diia.Business, Moldova Innovation Technology Park, Venture Café Warsaw and CEE Startup Bridge. Together, they played a vital role in connecting startups with mentors, investors, and innovation ecosystem enablers across the region.

Warsaw Connect: expanding regional ties

Nine top-performing startups were also selected to take part in the BOOST: Warsaw Connect Tour (3–5 November 2025) – a three-day visit to Poland’s leading innovation ecosystem, hosted at CIC Warsaw Innovation Campus and organized with Venture Café Warsaw.

“Poland is setting an inspiring example for the region – not only by investing in its own green innovation ecosystem, but by opening doors for startups from neighbouring countries to connect, learn, and grow,” said Ben Thompson Coon, Accelerator Lead, BOOST Green Futures Challenge.

During the tour, startups engaged in one-on-one meetings with Polish investors and venture funds, networked with key ecosystem actors, and explored opportunities for cross-border growth.

By connecting entrepreneurs across borders and linking innovation to real-world recovery, BOOST supports Ukraine and Moldova build the foundations of a sustainable, future-ready economy – one powered by resilience, technology, and collaboration.
