Western Balkan economies carry untapped potential in the ESG data industry. Although ESG criteria is one of the best impact assessment approaches, it is not widely applied in the region. Currently, available data reflects a company’s ability to manage reputational risk, but not its impact on the environment and society. Lack of quality impact data results in misplaced ESG investments and lost opportunities for local businesses.
ConsciESG is developing a digitized and standardized solution to ESG reporting in alignment with international standards, with AI technology for due diligence. Within the project, the team works on Direct Product Impact Performance – a service that measures a company’s impact on the environment and society throughout the entire product life cycle. The team focuses on the Western Balkan region and aims to encourage companies to act responsibly.
The team aims to improve corporate knowledge on sustainable development via ESG criteria and disrupt the ecosystem by shifting the focus from existing CSR practices towards more impact focused ESG integration methods.
In terms of the decent work and economic growth SDG goal, ConsciESG helps companies to attract impact investments to Western Balkan markets, boost multinational presence in Western Balkan economies, as well as expand local businesses to broader markets. In addition, the team strives for better working conditions and improved gender equality at work and in leadership in the region.
“The ConsciESG team is happy to have shared our first steps with the BOOST community. We are grateful to the BOOST team for their support & positive energy during the programme. It was challenging & motivating to be exposed to the various approaches and mentors during the programme. BOOST was our first and hopefully our key long–lasting partner in this ambitious journey.”
