Women, particularly those on or returning from maternity leave, encounter barriers to employment. Often, women cannot commit to a full-time career due to a multitude of responsibilities and cannot afford external childcare. Following maternity leave, this results in women feeling pressured to catch up with industry developments and get accustomed to the new work life reality. Simultaneously, professionals and companies may struggle with mundane, routine digital tasks, taking time away from other meaningful work.
Linaster is developing a virtual assistant agency to help women who are searching for part–time work (especially new moms), providing them with the digital skills and opportunities to become competitive in the labour market, advance in different roles, and gain financial independence. The virtual assistant training programme uses an adaptive and customized approach – it identifies digital knowledge gaps, after which the team suggests interactive asynchronous online modules to help them get upskilled. Moreover, Linaster assists with finding clients and connecting them with reliable, well-trained professionals, who perform digital tasks remotely and provide exceptional virtual assistance services.
Linaster aims to provide women from underserved communities with upskilling opportunities to advance to new jobs and secure economic independence. At this point, the team has recruited, tested and trained 20 virtual assistants, 8 of whom have started working with clients and have established retainer contracts with them.
“BOOST is an amazing programme full of extremely useful content, and it’s really very well organized! The hours required to participate in the live lessons, complete the assignments might be intimidating at first, but the overall impact on our business has been invaluable.”
