Research shows that children today read less frequently than any previous generation and enjoy reading less than young people did in the past (National Literacy Trust).
Virtual Story is an app for digital books based on literary masterpieces, which uses audio-visual elements that make reading fun.
The app will allow the user to influence the course of the story, change its direction and experience the story from the perspective of different characters. This approach will fuel young readers’ creativity and imagination.
Virtual Story conducted several online and offline surveys with parents in Georgia. 77% of respondents expressed positive feedback for the product and 68% expressed a desire to purchase it. They have also tested the prototype with children aged 7 to 10, and results show that they all engaged with the app quickly, and the features of the app were fully understandable to them. Based on their feedback, they modified and added new features to the product.
Virtual Story has started negotiations with several publishing houses on potential collaborations and have consulted their product with several psychologists and educators. In addition, the team is looking for funding and are currently in talks with TBC bank and other founders.
