The funding gap for female founders remains largely the same as in previous years – in 2021, women-led startups raised just 1.8% of all investment in Europe. Furthermore, only 5% of crypto investors are female. The problem is systemic and needs holistic solutions. 

WeinCrypto DAO is an online ecosystem that helps women and young people unleash Web 3.0 by building and educating a community, NFT membership and supporting women and youth-led Web 3.0 startups. A DAO is a collectively-owned, blockchain-governed organization working towards a shared mission. 

WeinCrypto’s work tackles three SDGs: 4, 5, and 17. They believe that by creating a supportive community and ecosystem, they can minimize the gender gap in Web 3.0 and unleash more opportunities for women and youth in Central Asia and the Caucasus by 2025. They aim to engage 10,000 women and young people as members and support 1000 startups. 

They have built partnerships with SuperDao.io, a Silicon Valley startup, which is helping them launch the DAO on their platform, and Bybit, an international crypto exchange, with whom they are launching the first online bootcamp on digital financial literacy for women. They have also engaged the Blockchain department of a local association of IT product developers, with whom they have prepared and conducted the first blockchain training for government bodies.
