Zetamatrix manufactures bionics in the form of hydrogels that act as extracellular-matrix environments to support cell growth and proliferation for use in tissue engineering and 3D bioprinting applications.
Scale-up & growth
The biotechnology industry faces several challenges, particularly with regard to animal testing and high production costs. Millions of mice, rats, rabbits, and other animals are caged and used across laboratories in Turkey for clinical trials. What is more, the methods for personalized drug design, artificial organ fabrication, cosmetics, and drug testing systems are too expensive.
Zetamatrix creates photocrosslinkable bionics with excellent properties to build up 3D-4D scaffolds. Extra Cellular Matrix is the major constituent of multicellular organisms. It is composed of large structural proteins, glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans that are secreted and assembled locally into a 3D organized network. This solution reduces testing on animals and promotes research modernization. Zetamatrix is currently working with pharmaceutical, chemical and consumer product companies.
Zetamatrix is cooperating with 15 universities & laboratories in Istanbul and has conducted major academic research, resulting in over 200 joint studies. R&D developed first product portfolio with four product series ready for sales and further investments.
“It has been an excellent programme for us. The BOOST programme has helped us to create a network for our company, in addition to our current focus – how to be more effective in sales and marketing, what to target and how to reach the right people“
