The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Europe and Central Asia announces strategic partnership with SocialTech Lab for the BOOST: Urban Future Finance acceleration programme. This collaboration brings together UNDP’s development expertise and SocialTech Lab’s innovative approach to technology and entrepreneurship, aiming to transform urban development in the Western Balkans.
SocialTech Lab, known for its work at the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, and peacebuilding, will play a pivotal role in the upcoming BOOST programme. They will offer a comprehensive acceleration journey to strengthen participants’ business models, embed impact, explore new financing options, and integrate digital technologies. Leveraging their expertise, SocialTech Lab will provide tailored training, personalized mentorship, and access to their extensive network, supporting participants to grow and acquire necessary skills to succeed.
The BOOST: Urban Future Finance acceleration programme seeks innovative financial solutions for urban transformation. It is open to a diverse array of applicants – from startups and social enterprises to non-profits, municipalities, and academic institutions – who are based in or plan to deploy their solutions in Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo1, Montenegro, North Macedonia, or Serbia. Up to 20 solutions will be selected for support and acceleration, with the programme running from November 2024 to April 2025.
“We’re thrilled to partner with UNDP to deliver this BOOST acceleration programme. By combining our Social Impact Generator model for entrepreneurship development in fragile contexts with UNDP’s regional impact, we aim to empower innovative changemakers in the Western Balkans region to create sustainable urban solutions that positively contribute to their communities.”
This partnership underscores both organizations’ commitment to fostering innovation and sustainable urban development in the Western Balkans. Interested organizations can apply for the programme until October 21, 2024, through the BOOST website.
